Ephemeral Art

Bridging the gap between botanical beauty and philosophical inquiry through avant-garde installations that challenge the perception of time, life, and decay.

Decay & Rebirth - A large hanging floral installation in a London gallery

Decay & Rebirth

Central London, 2023

A massive, suspended structure featuring 5,000 dried and fresh blossoms. This piece explores the Stoic concept of Palingenesis—the cosmic regeneration. As the fresh flowers wilted over three weeks, the underlying skeletal structure of preserved moss and wood was revealed, symbolizing the beauty found in every stage of existence.

The Allegory of the Bloom - Conceptual storefront display with philosophical text and flowers

The Allegory of the Bloom

Bespoke Storefront Installation

Inspired by Platonic thought, this conceptual display used mirrors and wild-grown flora to question the boundary between the shadow (the reflection) and the ideal (the flower). It served as a public invitation to pause and reconsider the reality of the natural world amidst the urban landscape of London.

The Philosophy Behind the Petals

At Socratic Petals, we believe that flowers are more than decoration; they are a medium for dialogue. Our installations are ephemeral by design, mirroring the transient nature of human thought and emotion. We use sustainable, locally sourced botanicals to create large-scale works that invite the viewer to ask: What remains when the bloom is gone?

Through geometric rigor and organic chaos, our art seeks to harmonize the rational and the wild, creating spaces for contemplation in galleries, public plazas, and luxury brand spaces throughout the United Kingdom.
